About Margaret DeBruin
Shortly after graduating from RISD in 1995 with an MFA in Ceramics, I began my career in Boston's historic Fort Point art district. Although I consider clay my first love, my current work is children's hats and clothing, made primarily from upcycled fabric.
My line of eco-friendly children’s clothing and hats are made from colorful and fun upcycled materials. As a mother of young children I only sell pieces that I would be proud to put on my own kids. My line includes: upcycled dresses, t-shirt hats, sweater hats, sunhats and new leggings. Prices range from $15 to $35. Some of the shows that I’ve participated in over the years include: the South End Open Market, RISD Alumni Spring, Fall and Holiday, Craftopia, South Shore Arts Festival, Hingham Shipyard Holiday, South End Holiday Market and the Boston Ahts Festival.
In addition to my career clothing line, I teach ceramics at the Brookline Adult and Community Education, manage the after school programs at the William H. Lincoln School in Brookline and, most importantly, am mom to my two awesome kids.
